How CafeHop began

CafeHop began with a simple daily challenge: finding somewhere interesting to sit, enjoy a good coffee and get some work done.

After working in Italy and the UK as an educator and technology consultant, I had become accustomed to easily finding different cafés and welcoming spaces where I could work, meet clients and spend a productive part of the day.

When I returned to the UAE, I noticed that the café landscape had changed. Independent cafés were appearing across the country, each with its own atmosphere, identity and approach to coffee. Yet discovering them was not always easy. The familiar international chains were highly visible, but they were often crowded and did not always offer the character, calm or sense of discovery I was looking for.

Having been born and raised in the UAE, I knew these independent places were part of a much richer local café culture. As I began visiting more of them, I also noticed the people around me: professionals working between meetings, freelancers looking for a change of environment, friends exploring new neighbourhoods and customers who simply enjoyed discovering somewhere different.

That was when the idea began to take shape. There were many independent cafés worth discovering, and many people already looking for the experience they offered—but there was no simple way to connect the two.

CafeHop was created to make that connection easier.

More than somewhere to have coffee

CafeHop is for people who want more than the nearest familiar coffee chain. It helps members discover independent cafés across the UAE, enjoy excellent coffee and find spaces that suit the way they want to spend their time.
